endings are beginnings, we just don't know it yet. This was a line from the
book The Five People You Meet in Heaven. For some of us, it might be the end of
Mav's journey, but for Mavic, it is a beginning of a new life where there is no
pain, no suffering, no sickness, no death.
has been part of our barkada since cya days. In a group where all of us are
expressives, mav was the neutralizer. Mav wasn't the type who called attention
to herself. She was happy being in the background and the listener of the
group. She was our cheerleader. She would be the first to affirm us and say,
kaya mo yan. Whether it be love life, family life or career, mav was ever
supportive of us. She would text, Halu, kumusta ka na?
was also the conscience of the group. She had been a witness to our ups and
downs in life. She was the voice of reason and she had this certain kind of
wisdom that brings a new perspective. She would often say Baka god wants you to
do this or that.
was a low maintenance type of person. She's simple in her lifestyle, in the way
she dresses, in terms of her dreams and goals in life. She would think of her
family first before her own desires. This was true when it comes to major
decisions about work. She would agonize not having to spend time with her
family because of her work. Mavic didn't want to be a burden to other people so
she would rather suffer in silence.Even when she was very sick, she was still thinking of RC and Vhia.
last few years were difficult for Mav. She made a lot of big decisions and
experienced major trials one after the other. Despite the big blows in her
career, in her family, in her finances, Mav didn't become bitter. She accepted
her fate and acknowledged her mission in life. Of course, she felt fear but she
remained steadfast with The Lord.
our lunch and dinner dates would never be the same without you. But, we know
that you are up there listening to our updates and chika. Your name means
victorious, and truly you deserve that name because you were victorious against
your fight against cancer. Now cancer can no longer touch you, you are now with
your maker who fought with you until the end. We love you and we will miss you.
